Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey

This is the second in a wonderful series about a planet that is protected by dragons. I love this series because it is well thought out and the characters are wonderfully written, There is excitement and adventure throughout all of these books that I find to be inspiring, the perfect series to read on a rainy or snowy day, or just even when you feel like reading. The world is without danger for a few hundred years and everyone believes that dragons are a drain on the economy and are about to mutiny against the old way of life when the threat returns and everyone is in a panic about it, well someone comes to the rescue and life resumes like it used to in the good ole days.
